Only commenting because an apparent Bama fan started this thread. And I can't speak for all LSU fans. I don't like it because everyone has to have a permanent opposite division opponent just to protect Bama/Tenn and Auburn/UGA. All the other cross division games are forced rivalries. LSU/Florida is exciting and usually has a lot at steak but still has not materialized into a real rivalry. It wasn't as big a deal when you played three opposite league opponents a year but now it's just dumb that you play in the same league as teams that you only meet head to head once every six years.

I understand the argument that the game screws up scheduling. I can go along with that. I just see a lot of comments over the last couple years trying to ridicule the idea that it's a rivalry.

I don't see why anyone would care who our rivals are, but I understand why people are annoyed that it causes scheduling problems.

As for the 9 game SEC schedule mentioned earlier, Saban has been more outspoken in favor of that than any other coach I have heard.

And please don't overlook my not-so-subtle jab at Ole Miss.
