then you might need to email whoever updates the official SEC Sports website because they have him 7th. Surely they have made some sort of mistake.

pretty sure that's the ESPN formula that they themselves invented that's on a 0-100 scale.
The other QBR, that people have used for quite some time, has him 7th in the league.

Last week the narrative was "let's wait and see how Yall preform against a real defense (UF)
This week the narrative is downplaying Harris lighting them up
And after he plays well vs Bama it'll be "we all knew Bamas secondary was their weak point this year"
UF was the best secondary he will face all year.

It's tRant, so the narrative will never change. As long as Les is happy with his QB, the "experts" on tRant can suck a egg.

then people would have no reason at all to doubt him. I expect that bama will basically sell out to slow down LF, so harris is going to be forced to step up agaisnt a very good secondary. That game will tell us a great deal about BH. Should be a fun one to watch.

he is one of the best qbs in the league, LSU has the best offense in the league.

No, that's a PASSER rating. ESPN has that well. It's a very old and very simple formula which takes only a few things into account. It doesn't even take into account a QB's running stats.
Total QBR takes into account a lot of things a simple passer rating does not. Pro Football Focus takes even more things into account and is a complex formula like Total QBR.

And he tore up Florida,
He had 202 yards passing. He completed 13/19 with two Tds. He played well against a good pass D, but tore up? Lighting up? I mean come on.

What is your argument? He probably had the strongest arm of anyone coming out when he signed with LSU. Whitfield called him one of the best arms of college football coming into this season. He is 6'3" and will probably run about a 4.7-4.8 at the combine when he comes out.

If harris played in a pass heavy offense he would be considered one of the better QBs in the nation. Dude is crazy talented.

So he's an average passer in the SEC. I think we all agree then. /thread?

13/19 for 202 and 2 TD, 0 INT is a damn good game
I dont understand why some of you think someone has to throw for 400 yards on 40 attempts to have a great game.
If Harris was given the opportunity to throw it 35-40 times a game he'd have big passing numbers.

Then why don't Cam and Les let him throw more.

Le sigh, some of you just cant admit he's had a great season given the opportunities.

They have someone named leonard fournette. Have you heard of him?

We do agree that he's had a great season given the opportunities. He's simply not a top tier QB. I'm not sure that the SEC has one of those this year (outside of perhaps Dak).
Could he develop into a top tier QB? Sure. But I'll bet against it.

Currently, in relation to you specifically, it's that you struggle with semantics. A 1st round talent means someone who might go in the 1st round, which seems to have escaped you.
My original point I've made from the start is that BH has surprised folks and played well within what he's been asked to do. He is doing exaclty what's been asked and done it well, but we still dont' really know how good he is because he hasn't HAD to carry the team to a win. I've never said he sucks, in fact I've been complimentary of him. I just think we should hold off a bit before sayign he's one of the league's better QBs. I think tha'ts a pretty reasonable notion.

Things like this are incredibly weak talking points in a discussion.
