And there's the next year post. New QB and retooling the O Line will then be the excuse

This is what worries me. It seems like timing is never fricking on our side.

Next year should be our year given what we return on defense and the fact our tough SEC games are at home, yet we're starting over at QB and will likely be overhauling the O-line, in addition to possible losses of Collins and Henry.

We are the fricking unluckiest program in FBS.

I went ahead and trotted out next year's excuse along with the "there's always next year" post

But seriously, it wasn't just an always next year post. We expected to win 8 or 9 games this year. 7 or 8 is still possible and realistic, so it's not like everything has gone to shite like we originally thought. It's just been a weird season. We're not as good as we were in '14. We had reason and hope to believe we would be better, much of that reason coming from the smoke blown by the media, and certainly not least of all, our HC (although I was never on the bandwagon that we would replace our defensive starters and not miss a beat). That hope is still valid for next year. We've had a receiving game emerge from our fourth string, and we may return Hatcher on top of it.

This defense isn't as good as it was last year. It's still better or as good than any defense any other coach we've had since being in the SEC has fielded. I know my previous post was typical Arkansas, but nothing I said was all that much of a reach. We have theoretical talent at QB - as much or more as any of the "stacked" blue bloods, and there's more reason to be hopeful than doubtful.

He's going to be here for another two years whether any of us like it or not. You may as well look for the positives, and if you don't let your emotions get the better of you, you'll find you don't have to strain your eyes to find some of the obvious ones.
