still blows my mind why we never had Midnight Madness under Grant.... it was like pulling teeth getting the basketball on the quad thing going his last year.

And it was just weird, like an odd spectacle that a hundred or so people walking around on gameday got to see. It was something befitting of maybe a non-revenue like soccer doing juggle tricks or gymnastics doing some tumbles to the oohs and ahhs of passer-bys.... NOT a major basketball program.

Not only that but at most schools, midnight madness events are shared by the Men's and Women's teams for added exposure and they usually make the most of it. So just ignoring such an obvious tool probably hurt both programs.

We had a few when I was in school at the height of CMG's success. They sucked. Coleman wasn't packed and fans sat on their hands. Hopefully that will change under Johnson, but I doubt it. The football fans will get bored.

I remember that event last year vs the A&M game if I'm correct. The fans there were so disinterested and the whole thing was a disaster. I remember the announcer saying something like "Maybe the fans should give a little noise"..Ugh Grant's tenure was a disaster in the end.
