Could there be an expected legal consequence to this suspension that Pinkel expects to play out? I'm just curious about the length of the suspension. If there is fire behind all the smoke, why keep him at all? It's just odd to me.

Personally I think there's assuredly fire behind the smoke. But I also think this is one of those times where we are better off never knowing what exactly the fire is.

"Integrity of the program" may be just a soundbite that Pinkel uses, but in this case I agree with it. We are all Mizzou fans and as much as we'd like to know the juicy details of what all is going on, there's no way for *us* to know without the whole rest of the world knowing too. And the rest of the world is filled with people who are not friends of Mizzou. In this case, I think that could be damaging.

The people at Mizzou handling all this are gonna be doing their best to ensure that the program and its student athletes come out of this in the best position they possibly can. Part of doing that will be that they will only ever say it was a "violation of team rules" and will "re-evaluate later" etc. Vague stuff.

If we hear any more than that, it will be from the non-Mizzou friendly media having grabbed hold of something it can run with. And that won't be good for Mizzou at all.

Well said. When Mubobby says he'll be less surprised if he never takes another snap than if he starts again...hats really all we need to know. I hope he gets it together. and appreciate all he did for Mizzou.

Could this also now be out of HCGP's hands and in the hands of others on campus? In other words, with the length of suspension, it sure has that investigation feel to it. It may not be over even after the suspension time has expired or they may drop the gavel just before it's over and release him. At that point, I would also think that all is fair game and what ever has happened will probably come out.

Personally, I don't want to know. I still like aspects of MM as a QB even though he has stunk up the place with his play recently.

I also agree that I think he has lost his starting position. There is no way he can regain it unless unfortunate circumstances happen. Lock just seems to be a level higher than MM.
