Good grief. After ending our NCAA tourny streak in baseball, likely having our first losing season in football since 2003... I'm desperate for an upswing in basketball.

Is 21+ W's a reasonable expectation for the Men's team this season.

I think so, provided we stay healthy throughout. We got to 17 wins last season with a much tougher non-conf. schedule, as well as some personnel strife such as Thornwell's tendinitis, Henry's and Sheppard's suspensions and dismissal, and Blanton's hip injury.
We also had quite a number of close losses due to lack of offense and players we could turn to to make the crucial late-game shots needed to pull out the wins. We were 1-2 players shy of a 20-win season last season, IMO.
I'm not setting myself up with any grand notions of success for next season: at best I'm hoping that we improve enough to reach the NIT. But with the added depth, the great addition of Dozier who IMO is the real deal, and improvement from Thornwell - who had a slump last season - and Notice, we can win 21+ games.....

Yep, I think as long as we make the postseason (NIT or NCAA) this season is a success. Think Frank's been given enough time to see some substantial results after the regular season.

I CAN NOT wait!
I spent two hours last night watching videos on youtube of the new talent coming-in. And if they are half as good as they looked in their highlights they will contribute immediately.
It appears both coaches signed excellent classes and brought-in excellent talent.
Let's face it. If the transfers Dawn brought-in counted as new recruits she signed the number one class in the nation.
Frank signed a heckuva class - some real honest to gosh need-fillers. Plus Michael Carrera is gonna get to move out and play the three which is going to be a huge help given his energy. And he is capable of hitting from beyond the arch.
I am really looking forward to this season for both the men and women.

Men's basketball has this new tier of season ticket called the mobile pass. $50 a ticket for every home game. You just don't know what seats you have until the morning of the game. $50 for a season ticket...great deal.

The Gamecocks were picked seventh in the SEC media preseason poll, by far their highest prediction since the league stopped its divisional format. USC was picked 12th, 12th, 13th and 14th the last four years, and hadn’t been picked higher than fourth in the SEC East since 2001.
