If I go to watch the game at a friend's house on DirecTV and there is heavy rain will the reception be adversely affected?

Yes. You should hold an umbrella over the dish so everyone else can enjoy the game.

I use DISH. The weather causes problems maybe 4 times a year or less. Thick dark clouds with no breaks usually. I am hopeful that our weather will be mild enough to cause no concerns over here near Atlanta.

I have DirecTV and my signal goes out all the time due to rain. It's only affected if the rain is South of you.

Assuming your friend has HD (who doesn't?), if the signal goes out, flip over to standard def. It requires fewer satellites and will probably work. You might burn your eyes out, but it's better than nothing.

I have DirecTv and the only time I lose signal is really bad, cloudy thunderstorms. Rain, no issues.

If I gets too bad. Take your CBS app and throw it to an apple TV
