The hate between Florida and Tennessee has simmered down some after 10 years of total domination- but it is important to never forget where the hate originated. This article explains why Gator fans hate Tennessee and their fans. Read about how shitty the University of Tennessee and their fan base truly is:

The Tennessee game to me is the most important game of the year. I take it very personal. Not because it’s a great rivalry; it’s not, we kick their arse at will most years. In 1990 I lived and worked in Gainesville. I was a property manager. The week before the Tennessee game the most horrific events happened in Gainesville; the Gainesville Student Murders. To this day I remember their names by heart; Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Christa Hoyt, Manny Taboada, and Tracy Paules. I remember their faces, I know what they look like. Because of my standing in the community at that time I knew Gainesville Mayor Courtland Collier and Police Chief Wayland Clifton personally. My wife worked at the police department. I know more about those murders than anyone would ever want to know. It was Steve Spurrier’s first year as Head Coach. The town, the school, the students, the football team; we were all devastated. No one was thinking about football. The thought of even playing the game was utterly ridiculous. As chance would have it both Tennessee and us had the same week off in October. Gator administration reached out to Tennessee to reschedule the game. Tennessee refused! No one could believe it! Our Gator’s went up to Knoxville and played without emotion; understandably so. We kept it tight for the first half down just 7-3. The second half Tennessee took advantage and crushed us. We lost 45-3. Here’s where it gets REALLY personal for me. In the waning minutes of the game, over 100,000 Tennessee fans chanted “OUR STUDENTS DON’T GET KILLED!” over and over on National TV! So, to me, this game, every year, IT’S PERSONAL!

That was interesting. I thought UF hated UT because the UT fans bopped the Gator girls then smiled with that 3 tooth grin and said " they volunteered".

"Our students don't get killed" seems like an unlikely chant. I would absolutely believe that some jackass hicks taunted UF fans over it in isolated incidents, but do you expect me to believe the buttchuggers can string together a new, unpracticed chant that contains a multisyllabic word?

The entire game is on youtube if you want to tell us exactly where this is said. If it could be heard "over and over on National TV" we should clearly be able to hear it on there huh?

Nope. Just looked up the case and it happened on August 24th, 5 games before UT vs UF. So the whole thing about rescheduling the game is also made up

Literally the only good thing Boom did was make the younger generation of fans (myself included) truly hate Georgia in the way older fans did. Prior to Boom, I gotta be honest Georgia was a rival but I cared a lot more about beating LSU or Bama- I mean the Dawgs were kind of just a given- sure we'd lose like once a decade or so but I'd go into the game assuming we'd win and probably win easily, now its like frick those guys.
Tennessee right now is where UGA was, but even worse because prior to the 90s no one really cared all that much, and now the Vols are so beaten down not that many people care.
Also 2001-- Darnell Dockett and Osama bin Laden cost us a national title and made us play the Vols late and without Earnest Graham.
