And you painted with the broad brush, making the assumption that bestiality has been legalized everywhere. The military chose to write in bestality and sodomy into the same article. The article had to be repealed to suit the purpose of repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The military can amend other articles to address that.
It doesn't stop the military from addressing a soldier who has been raped using sodomy either.

Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with an animal is guilty of bestiality and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
(c)Scope of Offenses.—
Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete an offense under subsection (a) or (b).

I got exactly what you were attempting to point out. An attempt to point out an issue with lazy effort was what you did. Unfortunately, stupid comparisons or comments rarely seem that way to the stupid person making them.

Did you miss the text "forcible sodomy" or "with another person of the same or opposite sex by unlawful force or without the consent of the other person"?
If they're consenting adults then it's not an issue.
And just a FYI, homosexuals aren't the only people who engage in anal penetration. What you cherry picked also includes opposite sex interaction in the same sentence. So do you agree that a heterosexual couple in the military who are consenting should be court marshalled as well?
