If we had to pick between him and Cowart I'm fine with what we got but sure would be nice to have him the way he looks tonight (aside from the offside that just happened).

I'm content with Cowart and Prince Tega. Both will end up better

Bowers is also having a good game for them. He was committed to us at one point.

Westry made the game winning INT for KY in their game tonight. I hope the kid does well as I felt we kinda fricked him in recruiting.

Why don't our freshmen play like Key and Westry?

Because Key was going up against a converted tight end playing tackle for the first time

The INT Westry had the backup at SC pulled a JJ and threw it straight to him

Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. They are getting production, we are not. Auburn hasn't been the best at player development since the Chizik era started. And I am afraid that we are seeing it continue under Malzahn. I am very concerned with QB development.

He had some grade issues and we wanted bigger fish that we knew 100% were going to qualify.

Yep, Lawson was awful his Freshman year. Cox is doing horrible this year, as is Carlton Davis, Irving, and Cowart.

Do you think just because a player had 4 stars by their name they should come in and contribute right away? It doesn't happen with most players. For every freshman you name that has contributed something, I will name 50 that hasn't done shite their first year of college football.

Call me stupid but I think Jeffery Holland has looked good with his limited snaps. Better than Cowart IMO

I agree. Holland has really stood out so far. Looks really athletic.

Holland and Carlton Davis have looked great so far. Irvin deserves a mention too.

Uh Tim Irvin? Carlton Davis? Jeff Holland? Byron Cowart? Chandler Cox?

All of those guys have contributed in very meaningful ways. It's easy to point at one select player on each team that is playing well as a freshman and say why not us? It is also week 2. Let's compare these guys after a full season and see how things stand

Auburn develops a reasonable number of 4 and 5 star players. Every school has 4 and 5 star bust, we just know more about our bust.

Alabama/Saban is not good at developing players, but he out recruits everyone and it is NOT close.
