We need better recruiting classes consecutively to climb that mountain.

so then you're in the camp that says Pinkle has yet to out recruit his coaching weakness's?

And despite his Mauk-moments, the team wins with him at qb.

Mauk has definitely been (at least partly) responsible for putting our defense in a situation to win games!

On that much we can agree..

Mauk has helped our D get MORE game experience than maybe we would like!

I'm just curious you see. The "let's build Saint Gary a statue club" seems to have two excuses for his failures...

a. "stupid refs hate Gary"

b. "stupid players that Gary recruited/coached won't play good enough"

It's always fun watching their loopback logic fall flat on its face.

Seems like every time I watch some of a Missouri game, they look very mediocre. Yet somehow they end up winning the East

Make you think our offense will blow your doors off then smack you in the face w/ D when the O does nothing... fukkin shear genius.

So they played the kid after all an pulled the redshirt?

Despite what some others are saying, it was the logical thing to do. If Blaine Gabbert can be a top 10 pick after three years at MU, then this kid will be a lottery pick. He will be here three years, 4 max. Why waste one on a redshirt when he's the best backup QB option on the squad? You going to get as much, if not more, time from the kid on the field by NOT redshirting him. You redshirt him, then he backs up next year and likely starts for one and is gone. Play him this year and get him some experience (and standing with his team mates) and then compete next year for the #1 job, and you might get two years as a starter from him. Mauk is a team leader who's won a lot of games already at MU. Can't just kick him to the curb like some seem to think they should. Pinkel does not do that to his team leaders, for good reason.

seems like they aren't that dumb and have already figured out he's the best QB on the squad.

how does that work again? best player plays UNLESS you're the QB and a true freshman?

won a lot of games by forcing the defense to carry him..

that little point seems to be continually over looked by you sunshine pumpers.

Anyone who uses terminology like hater and sunshine pumper is clearly a troglodyte, troglodytes are bred and born on tigerboard.

I actually played football so I'm not allowed to post on TB, that and I passed 4th grade.

As others have said, he is obviously the best qb on our team RIGHT NOW and will end up the best qb in Mizzou's history. I whole-heartedly believe that he will lead us to our first SEC championship.

I am as excited for Lock as us all, but even I (who was at the game yesterday) think it is absolutely ridiculous to say these things and mak these predictions already. Mauk had a terrible O line yesterday and pretty bad recieving. Not saying that Lock did bad because he did play great, but saying this stuff after ehat, 3 or 4 series' against SEMO?

I thought the receiving was better than average, sure they dropped a few, it happens, but overall they responded pretty well.

Mauk always seems to have an excuse for long stretches of offense failure, if we can't throw the ball maybe we should put in Zanders who undoubtedly is a better run option QB than Mauk.

We haven't seen Lock struggle yet. I've seen Mauk struggle and come back from it. What will Lock do?

There's a lot we don't know about Lock when it comes to throwing into coverage or adversity. Almost every pass Lock completed was to a wide open reciever.

Mauk played fine, other than his hail merry punt interception there was little to complain about.

I think the reason the OLine sucked was because we don't have a RB after Hans that can run. Until I see Hans in for a full 3 or 4 series I'll make a judgement then.

RB situation, that's my worry, QB? Yea we're good there.
