Good
- The defense played lights out for the first 55 minutes of the game, while the starters were in.
- We made a 56 yard FG, and didn't allow a kick or punt return.
-Barber looked like a workhorse that we could depend on. Similar to Tre Mason in a ton of aspects.
Bad
- JJ tried to force it over the middle a ton and made a few overthrows deep.
If someone would have told me our only concern after game 1 was Gus' offense, I'd have instantly said we are in for a good year.

I said last week that I was more concerned with our offense than the defense. WE have more talent on defense than we do on offense right now. Plus, we replaced 8 guys on offense. 8 !!!! Thats a lot of new guys in a complex offense. It is going to take some time. JJ is not a plug in player for Nick Marshall. He does not have the same skill set. Everything needs to change and it will.
Im my opinion, its easier to get better on defense early. The offense will come around. We just need to gel a little more on the offense line, cut down on some of the penalties and let JJ get his feet under him and get his head cleared of all the heisman bull shite.
I was very pleased at most of what I saw yesterday

I finally watched it on TV this afternoon, and JJ didn't make a few mistakes...he mostly made mistakes. I didn't do the math, but very few of his passes were on, most receptions required the receiver adjusting to the ball. I saw very little of him progressing thru any reads and he looked the safety onto the receiver more than not. I'm not saying that the sky is falling...but that was abysmal.
Defense played tough (especially with Lawson and Matthews in) and the kickers were awesome. I'm hoping JJ will fix it. But then again, I thought Fraizer would fix it too.
