Not to mention Spurrier is in a totally different stratosphere in the coaching world.

I actually agree, but he said it to a booster club meeting and probably didn't expect it to become a news item. He still should have been more sly, but people love that he's so honest and says whats on his mind. It's not just Arkansas fans who like it or he wouldn't be so popular with the national press.
