I wish I understood how to use sling, hulu, all of these things.

Can it save money from Direct/Dish and how can I watch all of the Hog/Cowboys games on it, etc..

Man I am old and confused.

I'm in the same boat, except I'm only 30 so I can't quite lean on the "I'm old" excuse.

We had satellite internet at our house last year (it was all that was available in our neighborhood) and it was terrible and expensive, so I cut it off and we've just been using our phones as hotspots when we need Internet on our laptops. Gets the job done but it's a PITA when working from home, which is an inevitability here and there come snow season.

Apparently Uverse internet is available in my neighborhood now, so cutting the cord may be a reality at my house once football season is over. Has anyone who has cut the cord with cable had any issues catching games during football season?

I had the great idea to try and reduce our tv costs, b/c our FIOS bill is so high and we don't watch much outside of sports. I only watch the news and sports. By the time I went through all of the things we would need to buy and suscribe to, it cost as much and we still had to go without. My musts are all of the ESPN channels and secn, and his are the NFL Network, HBO, whatever channel that walking dead show is on and Fox sports channels, so there's not supposed cutting the cord for us. One stop shop and we'll worth the $ for us.

Oh, and outdoor antennas aren't an option where I live, so that's out the door for us.
