Tells me a lot of dumbasses apply to bama thinking they have a shot when they already know they have no chance in hell of even being considered by AU.
It's funny when people try and talk up acceptance rates like they mean something. Automatically discredits any ranking methodology really.

Tells me if you ask nicely on a napkin you've got nearly a 9 in 10 chance of getting in.

The more logical and better indicator would be the average score of those who were rejected.

I personally favor the grade inflation studies ad well.

Nevermind, I found it on the Princeton review, but they don't have much data and they're a survey.
ETA: they don't even have a # for students admitted

You do realize that Southern and KSU are the actual backup schools to UGA right? UGA is the backup to Tech.

UGA is the backup for Tech??
AU is Tech's backup for engineering and UGA's backup for everything else. Same as it ever was.

I had the same problem. Naval Flight School acceptance rate was 1%, yet UGAs acceptance rate is lower.

Sorry buddy but I don't get worked up over this stuff like you want me to. Talking with WG or other brighter members of your fanbase about this subject seem like a better use of my time.

Sounds good to me. I'm going to research how an 86% acceptance rate is evidence of a quality freshman class. I am very open minded.

There is an old saying about statistics being misleading.
Texas A&M has a top 10% of high school class rule, so a lot of Texas HS students who know they aren't getting into Texas A&M don't even bother to apply.
Also there is an intentional attrition or weeding out of students in some programs, especially in Engineering. I thought I didn't do well in one of my classes with a C until the Prof told me he gave D's to over half the class.

Sad that anyone really thinks employers would really view any sec school degree differently (obvious vandy exception).

5 years isn't on time at a 4 year college

No kidding, every offseason this stuff gets brought up. All these schools are just state schools in not particularly smart states. No offense, but none are Cal, Michigan, or UVA.
Every school has some really good programs and pretty average curricula otherwise.

A good buddies daughter just got to AU to start classes. 19 ACT. Paint it any color you like but AU isn't difficult to get into.

By your standards Alabama is superior to UGA. You alright with that?
