minor surgery on a foot. He will lose valuable reps at a very crucial time leading up to the next scrimmage. IF the battle is truly equal between a few players then he has to fall down a notch. But if he is truly heads and shoulders above the others then he wont lose his spot. We wont truly know until they get into game week mode. My guess NS will name the top 2 after this weeks scrimmage.

Foolish thought.

In other words, come game time, the best QB will be the QB to start. Thanks for the update.

all seem to be nagging minor ones. So far no major season ending ones after halfway through fall camp and one scrimmage

.the problem is 90% of us Bama fans want the job to go to Barnett but I don't know about a true freshman Barnett.

Since you posted this on the SECRant, I assume you want the whole SEC to opine on this.

It sounds like you are a pretty connected guy to know the minds of 90% of Bama fans. And it's fun when you get to come out of the stands and talk with the Coach about strategy. What did Saban think about your idea when you met with him in the Coaches meeting after practice this week? I'm DYING to know.

Perhaps a true freshman hasn't come along that was the best QB on the team? Maybe that is it.

Sorry that you believe that Saban doles out playing time by seniority and then act like a sniveling bitch when someone disagrees.

I've said it once before and I'll say it again, especially now that Coker is hurt:

Given our current options, our playmakers, and our defense, Saban is not going to go with a guy that might be more talented but turns the ball over. He'll go with the guy that dumps to his checkdowns, throws the ball away instead of taking a sack, and can be relied on to turn the right direction on a run play. Blake Sims may have already called it earlier this year: Alec Morris might be that guy.

If Cornwell is a junior which I believe he is I don't see the issue here. Cornwell starts this and next year and Barnette takes over

Thank you for the info! I'd only point out that any foot surgery is far from minor even though many are routine by now. Even broken toes that require rebreaking/resetting and as well as surgery often require, screws, pins or plates. Those are usually fairly easy surgeries and MOST have great to very outcomes. But with so many bones in the foot nothing can be taken for granted.

That said, if that's all there is too it he should pull through without ever noticing a drop. Orthos are that good at that type of surgery.

Here's to a speedy recovery as no one (not even someone who plays for a rival) should see their career or season end like this.

Problems with a QB? This isn't a problem for OSU. Just reload. We'd offer you one of our QB's but its too late.

Not a Bama fan by a long shot (see TSIO) but your comment is about as appropriate to this thread as taking a rubber mallet to your dick in order to treat gonorrhea or chlamydia instead of just using penicillin.

That said resent being called a slab o shite' as I think slab o shite sounds flabby and I'm lanky as a mofo. I may well be a POS but not a slab imo.

Yeah, yeah I'm nitpicking.

ETA: Gotdam being forced to use an external keyboard, especially since my laptop on it's dying breath has a haywire onboard keyboard and mouse and both do whatever they wants. GRRRR/Sigh.

Saban wants a game manager. Experience is important. They want Coker to start, but he has been average.
