It really is remarkable that a transfer quarterback who couldn't win the starting job last year, and hasn't won the starting job at this point this year, is making news for missing one practice because of some sort of minor injury in the foot.

Are you kidding? This upsets the whole Heisman competition!

It's wide open now. But I'm sure Bama's QB will still win it. If Ohio State's 3rd string QB can win a national title, our 3rd string QB should be able to win a Heisman. We're Alabama, by God.

It is remarkable - but that is how it is at Alabama.

The thing about it, the guy has had serious competition at both places he's been. To the Heisman winner and #1 pick in the draft, to the guy who broke Alabama's single season record. He's probably pretty good, just not as good as those two guys. And he may not be as good as the #1 high school rated passer last year, or one of the top high school passers from the year before.

Can't fault the kid for feeling like he belonged at an ELITE program. Maybe he should have picked Vandy or Kentucky or . . . LSU. He'd be getting some playing time at those places.
