Don't know the exact numbers, but our practice facility is going to be 100% privately funded.

A&M fans could get triple that just by going through our couches.

Tennessee's athletic department was operating at a loss just a few years ago.

A&M had like $700 million a couple years ago. So there's that.

This is from an article in The State newspaper in Columbia, SC.

quote:

donations for the 2014-15 fiscal year was $94 million,

Not sure that it's not a misprint and that it is actually referring to revenue and not donations.

Knowing The State, that is entirely possible.

I sure wouldn't be starting a thread if my schools athletic department only got 48M in donations.

And for those worried about oil, there is also a huge rare earth deposit in west Texas that just happens to be on state land.

You come up pretty short.

Texas A&M was #1 at $93.6M for 2014.

This number is probably misleadingly low because many Aggies, myself included donate to the the 12th Man Foundation which is a private entity. It took a lot of cash to build 500+ million in football facilities.

Our "big brother" texas university took in a paltry $41 million.

I paid UT $24 for 3 people to tour Neyland a month ago. I did my share to help UT out of it's financial crunch.
