I'd be more embarrassed that Alabama beat LSU with Blake Sims at Qb, in Death Valley at night with the SECW on the line . again, Blake Sims beat LSU during a celebrated night game in death Valley.

Looks like Busey is on another bender. By the way I hate your Fire stick commercials and the fact that you cant admit the refs handed you that game disqualifies you from reasonable conversation.

And I would say the fact that you can't lose a game without using the "ref took it from us" retort and post a million pages of conspiracy theories on why Alabama is better than LSU crushes any reasonable conversation.
Alabama handed you the game late in the 4th and you still couldn't pull it out. You guys hype up Death Valley so much for being so intimidating. Didn't seem so intimidating for a first year QB, who was once a RB, on the last drive and in OT.

quote:Think of it this way: A great guy in his 20s is dating a girl in her 20s. They are pretty happy and making each other better at life. Girl gets to lord guy over all other hating arse bitches in the area. Guy says, "I'm ready for something new" and leaves girl for a disfunctional cougar. Things with cougar go south quickly because he took bad relationship advice from a Dr. Guy then is courted by the father of the area's true southern belle. I mean this chick has it all, money, prestige, the love and admiration of all. Guy says, "Screw this cougar shite, I'm going to marry this hot southern belle." The first chick is like, "frick him, I've found somebody better. He is goofy and all but we are okay." The guy and the southern belle are a match made in heaven. They really bring out the best in each other, while they first chick, with her new man, is constantly reminded of how he is doing great with the southern belle. The first chick is just bitter and pissed because she thinks that it could have been her if he had stayed.
Really I don't have a problem with LSU...I like Les and the games are always hard fought and physical as hell. But I guess I never will get why the fans hate Nick Saban.

Cmon. Your a bama fan. You guys have choreographed frick Auburn songs and stuff.
You can't call karma or low rent, low class of another fan base when you pull for bama.

I've been saying this for years. It's really no different than when Spurrier left Florida for Washington and then came back to South Carolina. Steve's first game back in Gainesville wasn't hostile at all to him. They gave him a standing ovation. But a lot of LSU fans see it as Saban leaving LSU for Bama when that's not what happened at all.

It's not really the same thing because Florida wasn't South Carolina's bitch for years. Saban going back to Bama stoked a pretty intense hatred that already existed.
Regardless that chant was pretty embarrassing last year. I was there in 08 cussing up a storm but it's been 8 years now and people need to let it go.

I think Jennings gets a raw deal for the Bama game. Yes he could have run for the first but he's a first year started and had it not been for his performance in regulation play extending drives with his legs I don't think Alabama would have needed overtime to pull that game out possibly. Harris is obviously the better athlete but that doesn't always equate to being a winner.

Spurrier is a whole different animal because he'll always be a Gator no matter what. Not to mention he's at South Carolina. I wonder how he would've been received had he gone to Georgia or Florida State?

Just like they handed us a personal foul in overtime, without which we would've been first and goal from the 1 yard line.
Some LSU fans like you cry so much. The tears obscure your vision, all the wailing clouds your judgement, and all objectivity is lost.

Meh, it's all part of the fun surrounding this game. I, for one, don't hate him and I am thankful for his time at LSU.

Try to imagine Mike Shula leaving for the Carolina Panthers after after the 2005 season when he won 10 games. Then after some AD goes to Charlotte 2 years later and schmoozes his wife he gives a press conference saying "I am not going to be the coach at Tennessee". A week later he gets off a plane in Knoxville to throngs of fans where jail jumpsuit orange and within a few years he's winning national championships and seems to have Bama's number.
Get it yet?

LSU played hard against Arkansas, but it was clearly one of those nights where it just wasn't going to work out. Jennings had another poor game, the weather was nasty, Arkansas was fired up for their first SEC win... It was one of those perfect storm games that crop up from time to time.
It was, but people undermine the psychological aspect of sports far too often. LSU plays that game a hell of a lot differently if we're fighting for the West. Jennings in particular would have a lot more confidence. I'm still not saying it's automatically a win. Arkansas wanted and needed that win, and was a damn good football team, but we'll never know. But whether or not Arky still wins, it's a much closer ball game if we beat Bama.

The Bama game was probably his best game all year, and so while he didn't have a bad game per se, if your best game of the year still isn't good enough to win a game where you need to exploit the opposing team's secondary to win because thats the weakest half of their D, then there's a problem somewhere. Jennings made a few great plays in that game, and throughout the year. But, if you can't complete 50% of your passes, you aren't ready for SEC ball. End of story. I know he's young and the coaches didn't exactly play to his strengths in a complex system, but after over a year in the system an SEC QB should be able to complete 50% of the few passes he was getting. I think that's fair.
Now that being said, Hilliard being hurt early was the real reason we lost. If Hilliard comes in fresh in the 4th quarter like against Wisconsin and Ole Myth, thats a different 4th quarter and we probably win in regulation.

No the better winner is usually the better decision maker. But since neither separates themselves in that area, usually you would at least go with the better athlete. But I'm not a coach. I do t see what goes on in practice. I don't know.
