This is an unfortunate example of Mickey Mouse TV execs pumping an agenda for no good reason. Michael Sam was good but not that great. His main quality is beening gay rather than his ability. BFD.
Most reasonable people already accept gays. They set Sam up for a huge let down by raising expectations that should not have been there.

There's nothing wrong with being gay but man it makes me want to puke every time I see his worthless arse on that commercial with Jimmy V. What Michael Sam did wasn't courageous at all and he didn't deserve that award

It will be fun going through all of this again whenever the first openly gay player to play in a regular season game happens. It's a shame that Sam was too garbage to make a roster

It would be a lot more interesting if he was good at football and stuff. Eventually a true star athlete will come out and it will actually be fairly big news.

He had a very good collegiate career. But, that doesn't mean he has earned an "SEC Storied" episode. His professional career has become somewhat comical.

He wasn't drafted because of his ability. I guarantee the NFL paid the Rams to draft him so they could save face. His inability wasn't the only reason he sucked either. He was fricked mentally as well.

Wait ... ummmmm, is the SEC going to get a cut of this action? Is this part of the SEC money package?
