My biggest "ehh" about Georgia's 2007 team is that it took overtime to beat the least talented Bama team in 40+ years - the same Bama team that lost to ULM.
I do agree they would have beaten OSU.

Someone seriously voted LSU #1 that year. They were a very good team, that still would of been destroyed by Miami
No. LSU handily beat many good teams that year -
#24 Arkansas, #25 Auburn, at Alabama, #2 Tennessee (SECCG), #7 Illinois.
We would have held our own against the U.

Was that the 1941 Mississippi State team that Won the SEC, beating AlaBama in the process; & yet claimed no phantom NC?

They didn't get any selections.
1941
Alabama: Houlgate
Minnesota: AP, Billingsley, Boand, DeVold, Dunkel, Football Research, Helms, Litkenhous, National Championship Foundation, Poling, Sagarin, Sagarin (ELO-Chess)
Texas: Berryman, Williamson

We also got our shot pushed in by UF that year. Miami that season, is considered one of the greatest of all time.

Not even a program as unaccomplished as A&M would have the nerve to claim a NC in 2012.

Good post
I have two questions:
In the Arkansas picture, which player is Jerry Jones?
In the Kentucky picture, which player is Coach Mac?

He was #34, I believe. Hard to locate in that picture.

Well, bama fell apart after the LSU loss and Uga transformed into a machine after the vandy game.

That was the one year, and I mean one, that MSU actually won the SEC outright.
