The Jr Day was successful. We didn't get any public commits, but we had just about everyone show up that we thought and we had some surprise visitors as well.
One of those visitors was S/WR Hamsah Nasirildeen. This guy is a stud athlete, he also plays on Concord's great basketball team. He plays at Concord HS in NC which is a winning program with a lot of tradition. He's teammates with another SC offer, DT Rick Sandidge.
Bentley is the recruiter for both.

247 bumped him up to a 4* in their rankings today.

I only ever visit that site if I've read literally everything on this one, including the tRant and the rest of the boards.
In other words not very often.

The #8 4*RB AJ Davis named SC in his Top3 today, along with OU and wvu.

CockyTalk bugs me. I don't know why.

I just took a midday trip to the barber shop and picked up two pieces of info.
Hamsah is now rumored to be transferring to JM Robinson HS, which is also in Cabarrus County this year. Moe than one guy at the shop confirmed that's what they've been hearing.
Secondly, my barber spoke to GA Mangus this week at an event downtown. Mangus was there in Gamecock attire and said that he was let go from the university but was contractually responsible for a couple visits that he was doing at the event as well. He didn't indicate any hard feelings towards SC, but he's still looking for a new job.

Don't like it or GamecockCentral, either.
Only good thing that ever came of having an acct with GC was finding out about tRant.
Now that I think about it...maybe that should go into my "reasons I don't like GC" as well.

I joined the rant and left the others behind. Used to get on Cockytalk back in the day... Remember CNB from there. Glad this board is starting to take shape. Best place for info, IMO.

Don't get me started on the FGF ... it's a total shite show, always has been.
This place is just perfect. No assholes, plenty of info and pleasant conversation. Good people.

South Carolina will host defensive end Tyreek Johnson (Sumter/Lakewood) this weekend with his family... It’s not a certainty that he commits while on campus, but if all goes well, there’s a strong possibility he’ll be a Gamecock sooner rather than later.

6-4 245 only other offer right now is Coastal?
Trust in these coaches I guess ... they apparently have a good eye for talent.
Offers will probably start rolling-in.

Junior college receiver Stephen Guidry (6-4, 190) of Morganza, La., has committed to USC for the 2017 class.

He was the first player Bryan McClendon offered. Glad we got him.

Sounds like a good prospect: offers from UGA, Miami, Miss State, Missouri among others....

Pretty sure Muschamp is trying to win back the state from Clemson by offering kids all around the state.
Clemson's recruiting nationally and with Bentley on the staff they are probably trying to make this "South Carolina's" team and state. This will also help them get closer to the high school coaches in the state.
It's a process but this could be huge for us in about 2-4 years. Especially if T-Rob makes inroads on Clemson's territories in South Florida and B-Mac does his work in Georgia and in Tampa.
