TE prospect Will Register (Chapin, SC) attended the Showcase Camp and committed to USC earlier today after receiving an offer from the coaching staff. He's 6-4 240 lbs as a rising junior, so he has a solid build that should only get better:
He attended Clemson's camp earlier this week, and was offered by them then. USC and Clemson are the only offers he has, but if he participates in some camps/combines he should pick some more. So far he's 2 for 2 for camps attended this summer, and then getting offers from those staffs.
As a sophomore for Chapin, Register had 18 receptions for 262 yds and 2 tds last season.
Here's a free little write up from 247Sports:

He's gonna be a good one, expect him to get a lot of offers this next 12 months.

Been watching him the past two seasons. He's a player. Very physical, naturally gifted athletically - just 16 years old. Excels at other sports - comes from a good family - makes excellent grades.
He'll get some more offers over the course of the next couple of years.

I think having the upvote/downvote on this site is silly, they don't do anything. I think the people that use the downvote are even sillier, b/c why would you use a tool that doesn't do anything.
Most likely it was one of the uga lurkers or clemson lurker.

awesome. If Adams gets drafted this year too, we aren't going to have any trouble recruiting highly rated TE's.
Cook, Saunders, Cunningham, Busta, (and then possibly Adams) that would be 5 TE's that made it to the NFL in 8 years.

We're earning a rep for TEs.

Good grief.

We've had some pretty good TEs at Carolina the past 5 or so years... before that even.
Wish we used them more but our multiple pro/spread offense is tricky.

I saw where we just offered Logan Rudolph from Northwestern. This kid is a flat out stud. His brother is the starting QB for Oklahoma State, but he played DE/TE.

This guy is 2018, but we don't have a thread and I thought it was relevant.

One of the top overall prospects regardless of position in the state of South Carolina is Florence (S.C.) Wilson defensive end Xavier Thomas.
Thomas, a five-star prospect in the Class of 2018, had this to say about the in-state Gamecocks naming Will Muschamp as their new head coach.
"I think it's a good...well, it's a great move," Thomas said. "I don't know too much about (Muschamp) but I know he is known for being a great coach. He coached at Florida and he did pretty good there, so I am looking forward to seeing what he does with USC's program."

This kid obviously doesn't read the rant or listen to national talking heads

Coach Bentley is down in Georgia today to look at 2 prospects in 2017 OT D'Ante Demery & 2017 WR Shawn Smith, both 4*

Here is our top target now for 2017 QB,
https://247sports.com/Player/Jake-Bentley-32264
I hear he's a family friend of the program and really close to one of our coaches.
Picked up 3 CB projections to us this week as well.

I'm calling it now, this will be one of my favorite and most exciting threads of the 2016 year. I just looked at some of the 2017 recruits the coaching staff is now engaging with and there is some elite talent there.
The in state talent of SC is going to be better overall this year.
We now have 3 Elite Recruiters on staff (Muschamp, TRob and BMac. Eilliott is also a really solid recruiter as well. Bentley will open a lot of doors in state but his recruiting ability will be TBD. If Johnson is a position coach, then his recruiting is already proven. If we get Lance Thompson too, then we'll have 4 Elite Recruiters on staff. If we get Lawing as well, it will be the best recruiting staff we ever had.
We'll be adding even more support staff (more recruiting staff than we've ever had,) and we're adding the right people (former players/coaches with SC/NC/GA/FL/VA ties.)
We still have the SEC's only football nutritionist on staff.
We have a new IPF and new practice/playing surfaces. We have brand new suites/dorms that rival anything any other housing a team has in the country, we have The Dodie (which is the best academic facility for student-athletes in the country,) we have a new-ish weight room/locker rooms, and we're building a new $50M football operations facility. We have an AD who knows what it takes to win big, who isn't afraid to sign big checks and we have more $ coming in than ever before.
We'll have everything in place to recruit and compete at a national level shortly. I think the 2017 class is going to be up there with the '07 class, we are about to go on a tear on the recruiting trail.
