Oooof. You might want to give that a Google. Clemson has first claim to it. Back then they would call it "deaf" valley and over the years the media mixed it up.

Clemson didn't start using the moniker until the 1950's. That was in reference to an opposing coach's quote in 1948. Meanwhile, Tiger Stadium, was built near a gas station named "Deaf Valley" in 1924. LSU admits they don't know when "Deaf Valley" became "Death Valley".

But most old-timers agree it was before the 1950's...

The first team to have their stadium called Death Valley, that was a team in the NE around 1910.

Haven't done the box but I can't imagine TS being behind anybody during a game. Not crazy about the BS that you have to endure outside the stadium and hate going there because of it but INSIDE the stadium during the game. Best place in America.
