When a Louisville basketball fan says something negative about UK basketball do Kentucky fans usually defend the program ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Why do you gumps jump on auburn fans over UAB. Its you guys that come rushing out to justify the closing of a program you supposedly care nothing about.
I care about my Alma Mater (UA) and care when people attack it's reputation.

Because The University of Alabama is being painted as some big bad villain because the system's BOT shut down a black hole of a football program that nobody in the state cares about.
Ironically enough, the people who are bitching and moaning the most are Auburn fans.
Wonder why?
And I wonder why Bama fans get defensive.

Why don't you cry about it like the Auburn fans?

Why is stupid shite like this said by fans of other schools? Auburn and Alabama fans argue about pretty much everything. Why would UAB be any different?

Because 1) it was the right decision for a program with no support that hemorrhages money and 2) because UA is being portrayed as some sort of villain when the decision to kill football came from UAB's own president (a UAB alum, no less), and not the board.
The whole thing is preposterous, and you'd be sick of it too if Kentucky had this problem.
