We had our neighborhood lake closed last season due to an E. coli detection...

As a POA we had cleaned up the swimming area the week prior using rakes and other tools to clear out weeds and such. This stirred up the E. coli that is probably in every lake in the country

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A number of swimming areas in Arkansas have been confirmed closed due to an E. coli threat.

The Arkansas Health Department said the following swim beaches are closed as of Thursday, June 18:

- Lakeview SB116


- Piney Bay SB138


- Shoal Bay SB141


- Waveland (Blue Mt.) SB143


- Beaver (City) SB215


- Jackson Port SB216


- Spring River SB255


- Lake Ouachita St. Park Beach SB260


- Lake Ouachita St. Park Spring Beach SB306


- Sandy Beach (Greers Ferry)

Surprised Beaver Fork isn't on the list. Usually, they've got the most goose poop out of all & stay closed most of the summer. ... Totally sucks about Greers Ferry since we're about to head that way to my aunt & uncle's house on the Little Red. We usually take the boat out to the lake.
