I actually read what you said and agree with most of it. Dobbs will probably be better than every opposing QB next year (I'm not sold on Knight at all), but that doesn't mean he will outplay them. Dobbs made some really really bad throws last year and there will probably be a couple games where he does the same thing this year. He has to get better with his decision making or there will definitely be a couple QBs who outplay him in individual games.

I understand why UT fans are excited, it has been awhile and the media is giving UT some love. Highly ranked classes and "one brick at a time". Win some games against teams of note and the rest of us may start buying the hype.

Maybe. I don't think there will be a QB we play with a higher QBR (Dobbs is just that important to our team). BUT there may be QBs out there that outplay him in the sense of accuracy. I don't know though because his accuracy has improved immensely and that has been the big nitpick we've had with him.

The mistakes he's made with stupid decisions/picks have come mostly from him not having any experience/reps with the 1st team and last year most of our WRs were out or injured by the time he played (year before NONE of them had any experience). Both times he was 3rd string due to the attempts to red shirt him as promised to him/his family and both times he was inserted in the last 5 games of the year due to injuries and when other teams were much improved and he had no reps with first team.

It will be interesting to see how he does now that he's getting those reps and is the starter. I think his potential is otherworldly but he may or may not reach it (you just never know).

Now one issue he has that I don't expect to change is that Dobbs has some of the bullheadedness of Peyton Manning in him. What I mean by that is when the team is playing horribly he has a tendency to try and win the game on his own. Sometimes that works but sometimes it doesn't and those are the times Dobbs will force plays that aren't there.

I look forward to watching him grow as I do with all SEC players (just hope they don't grow too much against us ).

This is a very fair statement. He can look very average at times, I hope he has grown up some.
