The SEC, according to published data, was set to take in a whopping $87.5 million from the College Football Playoff, which provided blanket guarantees of $50 million to each of the five power leagues and then had a formula to allocate additional funding beyond that number, which the SEC capitalized from when Alabama (CFP), Ole Miss and Mississippi State all landed in top-tier postseason games.

I think it's time Alabama, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State look to a Big 12 style profit slicing of the conference money the way Texas does. If we three have to carry the rest of you clowns in every sport, you need to pay up.
Every time an article is written about a team playing in a "New Year's Six" bowl, making the NCAA tournament, and playing in the college baseball regionals, only one SEC team is there and that's Ole Miss. We do our best to keep up with the landmass and we do okay in football, but we owe the SEC success overall to our Mississippi big brothers.
It's time we pay them the respect they deserve, as well as the lion's share of the SEC profits that they have earned.
