Will LSU keep Les Miles if he continues at 8-5?

Les Miles has been great for LSU. He's coached LSU in two national championships. He keeps most of Louisiana's talent at home. He is 4-0 against some decent Texas A&M teams (including the team that finished ranked #5 in the nation). And, Les is a super nice guy. I had the pleasure of chatting with him in person.
All indications from an outsider's perspective is Les Miles will be a 30-year career coach at LSU - similar to a Joe Paterno type at Penn State. He's the face of LSU football.
The question is would LSU fire Les Miles at the 8-5 pace, or even a 9-4 record?
Or, is Les Miles a tenured coach who can stay with the program as long as he wants considering it doesn't get significantly worse than 8-5?

Don't catch the hook on your cheek.

Les Miles will always do just enough to not be fired. And LSU fans hate him for it.

He stays as long as we continue to beat your overpaid and overrated coach.

I don't see any coach being like joe pa anymore. If you're going 8-5 8/10 years and 10-2 or 11-1 the other two you won't have a job in today's sec at a big 6 program

So beating a perennial 4th place team in the west is the standard for Lsu now? Weak

Although I honestly dont see us going 8-5 in back to back years, Im not sure miles would be fired. The fans would be extremely upset and call for change but at that point I still dont think Alleva has the balls to fire him. If anything he'd retire or resign but I doubt he gets fired, especially at the age of 61.

LSU is stuck with Les, they can't attract a better coach.

He'll never be fired. He'll retire before that ever happens.

No. He can have an 8-5 season every once in a while, but if he has 3 8-5 seasons in a row he is gone.

No chance Les would still have a job at LSU today if it weren't for Pitt's insane upset of West Virginia. National titles are everything, even if you back into them with two losses, including losing your last regular season game to an average Arkansas team.

When do you think they would have fired him? He brought LSU back to the NC game in 2012.

Les isn't coaching until he's 82 years old.

Except your Lord and saviour Saban.

I do not think he would ever be fired. However, a few 8-5 consecutive seasons and I could see him "retiring".
