Also, millions of old people would immediately lose their voting privileges because they don't own property, they're in nursing homes.

And you're eliminating a large number of people who simply rent condos/apartments to avoid the hassle of upkeep on a house/home.

Some people view the days when only property owning white males could vote as "the good 'ole days". Many of those people simply haven't considered the possibility that they could lose their own voting privilege if this type of system was implemented.

Here's another scenario that could pop up. Imagine you're looking to buy a house in a neighborhood with a good public school. You start looking at houses and find one you want to buy. You make an offer and the seller responds by asking your political affiliation. Imagine what would happen if Democrats banded together to keep Republicans from buying homes to suppress Republican voting, or vice versa. Wouldn't it suck to be denied a home because of your political affiliation?

I imagine most people supporting this type of voter suppression see themselves in the position of the seller, not the buyer. They don't even consider how these things could go wrong.

Yeah, property owning as being the primary means of voter eligibility is nothing short of retarded. So Jon who rents a high rise in Manhattan for $3000 a month and make 500K a year shouldn't be allowed to vote, but Cletus who has an acre with a trailer on it in the middle of Bumfrick West Virginia, has a 5th grade education, and lives off of government cheese on the other hand can vote. That's just stupid in today's age.
