re: Landon Collins would have been a first round pick had he gone to LSU

This doesn't say he lacks cover skills. It says he can't cover guys like Jimmy Graham and Calvin Johnson.

Ok, not ever responding to your other link because it was from Bleacher report.
Now, this comment I can get down with but it says nothing about him lacking cover skills. IF that was the case he wouldn't have been selected @ #5.

Congratulations to LSU on their 8-5 season and Landon Collins being drafted in the 2nd round! I truly hope y'all can scrounge up the change to keep the doors open over there.

He was selected #5 because of his elite physical abilities and potential to become a better cover corner once he got to the league. LSU didn't do much in terms of developing his coverage ability.

Thanks. Congrats to Bama for being the first SEC team to be bounced from the new playoff system.

You clearly do not know about coverage skills and neither does Landon.

Congrats to LSU for your ring for not winning your NC.

One more link for good measure.
"Must improve the consistency of his backpedal as he is quick to revert to side shuffling down the field. Does not display good route recognition in zone coverage."
You keep linking sites by bloggers.
Peterson is by far an elite corner but he's not without flaws. However, saying he lacked cover skills out of college doesn't = the weaknesses in his game you keep linking.

Lol OK. I think I'm going take the advice you have down in your signature now.

Collins has always been overrated
He decided to make a spectacle of the entire recruiting process which is more the norm these days with all these kids. Best of luck in NFL, he will be lucky to last 3 years as a S in the big boy league but that will be a nice payday

He committed one time to the team he wanted to play for. No decommits. No wavering. The only spectacle was the meltdown by LSU fans. For a guy who isn't even that good.

no he would not have been. can't cover, too small for linebacker. FS is his best option and there are a bunch of safeties in the big show now. Would be a great take in round 2 though.

Long enough to be true.

Of course not, hours before he announced he spoke to LSU coaches along with mother telling them he will commit with LSU on national TV.

Can we all just move along and quit crying from both sides. Regardless of what you think about him.

I wonder how long Alabama fans will be patient about their third-tier secondary issues. Along with their kicking woes, you'd think they would demand answers.
On the other hand, I respect the fact that Bama fans are thrilled with whatever Corch Saban gives them. Soul-stealing inexplicable melt-down loss to Auburn? No problem. Crushed by a Big 10 team in the first playoff? Meh.
That casual approach about losing will come in handy when Tiny Nick leaves and the next coach introduces even more losing . They are conditioning themselves-Zen-like-to be content losing.
