If the defense doesn't get better this year, there should be some reprimanding for him, especially the db situation. Lsu will have 3/4 db's from Texas, Bama would have 2/4 of their starters from Texas, Missouri would have 1/4. Yet we cant still field good db's, that's so dissapointing

Smart. Eric Monroe you next.

Chavis absolutely needs outstanding DBs for his scheme to work. If Sumlin can't start delivering those, this little experiment will crash and burn.

I hate you for starting the thread here.

I expect aggy defense to be like LSUs in 2013. Shows flashes of being great, but still a heaping pile a shite most of the time.

When you lose the top DBs in your State not only to Bama..but even more to Texas..yikes.

Every team in the country has areas on which it can improve.
One of our areas is DBs.
[New] coaches & players/recruiting are certainly a couple of ways to address the issue; both continue to become a reality at Texas A&M.
Unfortunately for the instantaneous gratification society, the result of a new hire and/or player LOI doesn't always pay dividends as quickly and seamlessly as some would like.
I wouldn't hold my breath for a "reprimand."
The Great State will always have other teams who come calling, drooling over our Texas players.
It is what it is.

I'd love to know what defense works so great without having great DBs.

We finally got to the meat of what this thread was all about.

The unnecessary apostrophe in DBs indicated a sub-par education, while the
was a plea for attention.
I've narrowed the odds of his provenance to a singular fanbase.

Good DBs are harder to find than people think. Cam Sutton and VHIII are the two best corners in the SEC. VH3 was a highly touted 5*, the number 1 CB, and number 3 overall recruit. Cam Sutton was a no-name 3* who no one saw coming and was ranked 575th nationally as an athlete.

Sumlin is living on the edge because he's a decidedly average head coach
