Reported by GCC. Don't know much about this kid other than this will be his last year of eligibility.
Hopefully he can contribute.

Ive seen where he is rated the 5th best SS prospect in next years draft. Should start day 1 was all conf in the big xii. Will come in handy against the spread teams we face this year.

CBS projected him as the #5 SS for '16, just the other day.
Probably a 4th-5th Rd Selection, which would be historically typical for the #5 ranked SS.
This is a huge pickup for the program. I don't know if he'll start Day 1, but he's going to get a shot for sure. I wouldn't be shocked if he started the first game though either. He's a 2 year starter at a D1 school with All Conference honors.
Right now we have Diggs and Smith projected to start at SS and FS. His arrival is going to make the starting spot for SS really competitive. B/w Johnson, Diggs, Smith, Elder and Moody, we're going to get 2 guys that have proven they can compete and perform at a high level.

I think our secondary has the potential to be very good next season.
I like Hoke's emphasis on good tackling (don't know why that wasn't before) and not getting beat long. Should be much improved along with the addition of a new safety.

This will be a problem, as I see it in the NFL all the time. Teams have a lead and then go into prevent defense with safety's playing deep cover and adding another DB, or only rushing 3 while a DE drops to cover the flat. Good QB's will find an open receiver and they'll pick up chunks of yards at a time.
I hate prevent defense. It boggles me that so many NFL DC's use it when what they were doing for most of the game was working.

If we had these stats alone last season I think we would have been at least a 9-win team.
