Crowne Pointe has some absolute palaces but I like some of the houses near the actual golf course (Northriver) even better. I have a relative that lives in Townes of Northridge. Great neighbrood as well

Bama is all in now. UT with a great hire, the other UT with a great hire, Miss St with a great hire, and Bama has all chips on the table showing 16 that they just hit and are waiting to see their fate

quote:From what I heard, if Marshall gets on a plane to visit Tuscaloosa then the WSU offer is no good. They made the offer, he can accept or reject but they want him to make a decision one way or the other and if he visits our campus they will know his heart ain't in it at WSU.
It's starting to sound obvious that Marshall wants the job but the wife is holding things up. Which leads me to believe that Marshall is not coming. This is the same guy who left Winthrop for Charleston, had a press conference, and then changed his mind and went back to Winthrop. It's obvious his wife has a very legitimate voice in what he does. If it is taking this long just to convince his wife to board a private jet to see if she likes Tuscaloosa, my optimism is not high.

Or he just wants a beautiful all expenses paid trip to sunny Tuscaloosa.

I have no idea if you get him or not, but this seems like a bad move by WSU. For one thing, surely they don't expect him to stay forever, and secondly it robs him of an opportunity to consider other things while still feeling secure. Would i be sweating if I were them, absolutely, but i wouldn't let that blind me and make a silly stand. what if he goes and doesn't like it, then they've screwed themselves for no reason.

Better find one on a golf course. Or have some really nice courses/country clubs in the area.

At this point, I'm starting to wonder if he's even worth having. This much drama in a hire indicates future drama, imo. There's playing the game for the best contract you can get and then there's this.

Yes. Barnes is a meh hire in my opinion.

Yep. With all the other great hires made we may as well take our sweet time and swing for the fences with Marshall and then the next biggest name on down the line if he stays at WSU.
"Wichita over Tuscaloosa"
Meh. Probably so but if you throw in metro Birmingham 45 minutes away I'll go with Tuscaloosa/Bham instead. I've been to Wichita and while it's a nice middle sized metro Bham is a thousand times prettier with more to do. Plus you're less than a 3 hour drive from Atlanta and Nashville and less than 4 hours drive from the beach.

I think Barnes is about as good as Tenn could have hoped for. Same with Howland for MSU.

Agree. Two very solid hires given the circumstances. The league has already upgraded coaching big time and Marshall at Bama (if we can land him) would be the icing on cake for the league's coaching quality.

Where is that final four? Kidding, did not realize he had done that well. Pretty under the radar type of coach. I recall Penders getting some love back in the day. Have heard him on talk radio from his Florida home, he starts drinking real early.

That sounds ridiculous. Even if this is their stance (which I doubt but who knows), they will absolutely give him the offer if he visits and comes back and says he wants to stay.

I never thought we would get Marshall but I am taking this delayed announcement as a good sign. If he were staying it seems that he would have wanted that cleared up right away.
