Ah yeah I missed "former", and just saw friend/teammate.
Hopefully he has some proof that he was asked to pawn it by the owner. If not, he may get fricked.

Sawyers had already been dismissed a while back and has been in the dog house since day 1. He was nothing but trouble. And yeah, looks like he went from dumbass who gets himself into constant trouble to ex-teammate getting someone on the team in trouble. What a fricking asshat.

Cops are usually good at untangling these types of situations (or used to be). I'm sure other people saw the Xbox in Sawyers' room or maybe Sawyers even asked someone else to do it. Hopefully Coleman mentioned to someone he was doing a favor for Sawyers and headed over to gamestop or whatever asking them if they wanted to come along. With Sawyers dismissed and the end of academic year growing closer, I'm sure that to Coleman it all seemed like a moving or end of semester type sale which students do with books and various stuff all the time.
Hell I dunno how our security cam system works or if they store stuff beyond a few days but footage from a security cam might show him coming out of Sawyers' room with it.
Regardless that's a piece of shite move by Sawyers. Then again he's the only athlete I know of whose dismissal cited both team rules AND university rules regarding student athletes.

Uh yeah that's what it is. Do you remember Coleman Thomas? He played RT last year and got beat more times than a stubborn mule and Adrian Peterson's kids combined. He was replaced by a walk-on who played on a blown ACL and that 5th year walk-on did better than CT ever did even on CT's very best plays. To say he was awful would do a disservice to those who manage to perform awfully.
However, Coleman Thomas isn't a bad guy and what happened has already gotten out. Knoxville is a big small town that way. One of the reporters Wes Rucker who broke the news earlier is already backtracking from his initial tweets and saying things are more complicated than thought.

It's pretty much confirmed that Sawyers had him sell it. Question is whether Thomas knew it was stolen or not
