Makes sense.

Race really isn't an indicator of much substance, anyways.

ETA: Yes, my parents are still on their only marriage and this year will be their 30th anniversary

Staying out of poverty isn't a racial thing either. If you can hit the following marks, your chance of living in poverty is less than 2%:

1) Finish High School
2) Don't have a child or father a child before you are 21
3) Do not commit a felony
4) Do not become an addict

Do these things, and you will be fine. Doesn't matter what race you are.
