Yea the truth is we won't know until next season (profound I know ). I'm sure after GDay there will be even more speculation and arguing etc.
What I'm interested in seeing is how long of a leash will coaches give them at the start of the season assuming one hasn't just taken complete control by then. Watching how Vandy declared a starter after a long offseason battle for the spot, then promptly yanked him during the first game and threw an even worse QB out there, was bad. It was an absolute disaster. And it ruined that QBs confidence. They start playing more uptight and that's not always a good thing.

If there's a clear separation in skill, I think they'll give the starter a fairly long leash. If it's close, then maybe game time is the best way to test their mettle. If someone can't operate against Vanderbilt in week two, under pressure for their job, then maybe they can't handle the pressure of playing Alabama on ESPN gameday.
