every team does on switches

Eh, you can't realistically tell me that every center in this conference can come off a switch and not get burned to the basket by a smaller, quicker player. It happens all the time (hence the mismatch in the switch).

he can't straight up guard anyone 1-5, that's absurd and you're being ridiculous.

It's pretty damn close. He's been one of he best on ball defenders I've seen in a long, long time this year.

His growth as a player over three years has been pretty impressive. Should be one of the top things noted when people trot out the Cal can't coach trope, IMO.

I've watched UK a lot this year, and again, he's a tier 1 defender. He's huge and athletic.

I guess we will see in the NCAA tourney. If he's coming off of ball screens and switching and guarding elite PGs, and doing it well, I'd be happy to eat crow. But I don't think it will happen.

You're completely missing the point of the "switch". This "switch" is a drop by the big to stop the player coming off the screen. He slows down the guard enough to allow his defender to get around the screen. He isn't guarding the player for an extended amount of time. Any competent big man can rotate down off the screen to help his fellow guard get back in the play. To say a player can guard 1-5 because he can rotate on a ball screen is ludicrous and shows how truly ignorant some are on this board about basketball.
