Eh. I'll reserve judgment on Smart until he flies with his own wings. Until then he's a figurehead as far as I'm concerned.
Well, until Smart shows that he's not capable, I feel he deserves a good bit of the credit for what Bama has built on defense since 2008.

Nah, you just have to take it in moderation. Some time on the rant, then time on the OT.

We don't need the best in the conference, to be successful with our offense. If you don't believe that I don't know what to tell you lol
You Ags keep saying this, but you were 5th in the conference in PPG in 2014. It's not like your offense is some unstoppable force.

I've been spending more time on the OT, but I don't actually post much. I get caught up reading the SECR at work and the stupid this place produces during the day boggles the mind.
ETA: And, funny enough, when I do post on the OT I troll the frick out of it and post the dumbest shite lol.

I look forward to watching Lsu kicks A&M arse every year.

We had an alcoholic and a true freshman at QB who's second start was AT Jordan-Hare... I was pleasantly surprised in our offensive production.
Also, this was on the heels of hearing ALL off-season that we would NEVER have a productive offense without Johnny and that he made Sumlin.
Now, are you going to continue to move the goal posts or agree that A&M will be a force in the next few years?

I respect him as a coach, but his legacy at Bama won't be realized (by me at least) until we see how he does on his own and/or how Bama does without him.
If he builds a defensive juggernaut as a HC somewhere, or if they fall off after he leaves, it suggests that he had a large role in Bama's defenses. If he can't build a strong unit elsewhere and Bama keeps humming, it's just the Saban effect.
Either way, if he's at all concerned about his reputation and legacy, Smart needs to get out of Tuscaloosa. If he wants perhaps the best asst. coaching gig in CFB and to collect the $$$, he's fine where he is.

Well, in 2014, aTm scored nearly 10 less PPG than 2013 & 2012. So, it looks like there is some merit to the claim that JFF gave people and inflated opinion of Sumlin.

Until Aggy learns to play D, and I don't mean a "Top 70 D" like so many of you think will be adequate, no. I don't think aTm will be a force.

Okay, we are in agreement then. But how else would you recommend that we address this issue other than through recruiting needs and coaching hires?
I mean, I just don't know what you want me to say here but you aren't giving me anything to think a single one of my opinions are misguided...

You've addressed it as best as you can, but there's no guarantee that Chavis will succeed at aTm. The next two years will tell, but you need to start entertaining the possibility that Sumlins' offense could be a detriment to the defense.

In what world are you living in that this sounded more conducive to discussion than anything I have posted in this thread.
This read like a pissed off 14 year old's diary.

Until they prove that they will be a force, no one is going to agree to this. That's the thing about the SEC, you kind of have to earn that and other than 2012, it just hasn't happened.

Good luck... I don't post much.. I have a lot of A&M friends... I don't like the recent history but love the tradition A&M brings to the SEC
