What NCAA sanctions are the Aggies facing?
quote:
quote:“Due to proposed state budget cuts to higher education that would significantly impact LSU, the athletic department has decided to delay breaking ground on our new Tiger Athletic Nutrition Center, which was scheduled for later this spring. “Though all of the money has been raised, through private donations, to complete the project, we feel that the current climate of austerity surrounding our university compels us to move in a more deliberate manner."
When the LSU System is facing the possibility of cutting 1,400 faculty & staff jobs and eliminating nearly 1,600 courses and 28 academic programs then it really is only prudent to delay just about ANY plans for the dang football/athletic department.
/quote]
Those numbers are exaggerated. There will be some cuts, but nowhere near those "possiblities".
And even some of the cuts they do make may be temporary.
There may be some costs/tuition increases to come
Also, the LSU Athletic Department gives millions to the Unvirsity every year.
