How is LSU going to be in the top 50 playing Auburn?
I think he means winning both games this week. Personally I think they creep into the high 40's if they win the next 3. If so, a competitive loss in Bud Walton shouldn't drop them much.

According to ESPN's RPI, LSU is 51st and is 0.0008 out of 50th.
Looks impossible.
No doubt it could happen and it probably will.
That wasn't my point. The point is that Hugh got his feelings hurt by Hawgeye who has been nothing but civil and bringing facts and stats to the thread.
I'm rooting for LSU and A&M to make the dance FWIW.

LSU has 2 losses to teams dang near RPI 200. So that hurts compared to UGA. Then also the loss to 130 Auburn.
They also have one of the better OOC wins in the SEC, on the road at WVU. The numbers are worth noting because we know the committee sets some store by the RPI. However, they put just as much credence in particular games and their outcome. If UK wins out, they will be the #1 overall seed, regardless if they are stupidly not ranked #1 in RPI. As for aTm and UGA, they are both hoping along with LSU fans that they close out well and sneak into the top 50. It would shoot aTm's RPI upward and help the Dawgs as well to have a close loss to a top 50 team.

We aren't hoping to sneak in the top 50. Being around 50 would be a disaster at this point

Not what was written. If LSU sneaks into the top 50 it will slightly enhance the view of UGA's close loss to the Tigers.

Oh I got you. That would lower our top 50 record though which is impressive seeing as 3 of those losses are coming from UK and gonzaga.
