And after spending 8 years there here I was thinking the restaurant scene was unique and of the highest quality in the country for a city of its size. Should have went to Clemson.

It's all relative.
If you're used to a big city, Athens is still limited...
But compared to Clemson, Athens is a culinary gold mine.

True, it is relative. But per capita, Athens has an outstanding dining scene (I hate calling anything "_____ scene", sorry).
For a city of slightly over 100k it is stacked with great restaurants.
Clemson has Arby's.

Dear Lord. The "dining scene" in Clemson consists of driving to the Anderson exit on I85. Clemson does have a good Arby's though....I'll give them that.
