Memphis might be the worst large city in America. I'd say Detroit, but at least Detroit is dying rapidly and there are large swaths that are unpopulated. Memphis is an unmitigated hellscape. New Madrid fault needs to swallow it whole.

Memphis is far worse than Detroit in my opinion, there are large chunks of Detroit that are really nice and the suburban area around it is incredible. The city itself certainly has some issues but there are redeeming qualities, Memphis really doesn't...
