Oh okay. You were downtown/midtown before right?

Like it in Decatur? We're seriously considering moving out there once the S.O's job calms down

Yeah, Atlantic Station before.

We like it here. You obviously can't go wrong with any of the downtown Decatur bars and restaurants.

Are you talking actual city of Decatur or just the Decatur area? I ask because I'm not sure if you've checked housing prices in city of Decatur. They're crazy right now. I'm in city of Decatur and we've got a newly built house down our street that's going for $729k. It's a 4/3, about 2700 sq ft. There are so many tear downs that have been done in the last 2 or so years, and they're going at a premium right now. For all I know, you're fine with those prices, but just be aware before you start looking around. Anything new or remodeled is going to be really pricy.

Decatur city schools being what they are have driven prices up like crazy the last few years. They never really took much of a dive through the recession, but they've gone way up since housing has made a come back.

We're actually in the final planning stages of going from a 2/1 to a 4/3 with a second story. We'll probably have 250k or so in equity when we're done.

I love this area. My wife bought the house we're in back in 04 and I moved in in 07, so we've been here for a while and plan on staying for the forseeable future, especially with one kid and planning on another, with how good the schools are.
