Equal protection under the law is the right.
As to your gun analogy, I agree that you should have the right to carry in any state if you are licensed, much like having a drivers license. Take it to court and see if it gets ruled in your favor.

And if States followed this, is equal protection still being denied?
What about equal protection of fathers to be, in relation to women who have abortions? Are their rights being violated under the 14th amendment when they have no say in the pregnancy?
