I believe everyone in the conference except Auburn and South Carolina has been to the NCAA tournament (expansion teams included) since Arkansas at this point. That's an awful lot of time rebuilding into the relevant program they were once.

On the flipside Alabama I believe is the second winningest program in SEC basketball history but most of their fans are pretty aware of the current state of their program and acknowledge it as such.

This. Alabama basketball has been down for some time now, and most of us know this all too well. Many delusional arky fans continue to tout their program as "elite" and "top 15," when they are currently neither. Hopefully, both programs will return to prominence in the not-too-distant future.

We know what we are, a Top 40 program that should compete for the NCAA every year and for the SEC every 3 or 4 years. We don't expect to be Kentucky, but 1 NCAA tournament in 5 years should earn you a firing.
