They didn't win a national title. That's my point. Alabama's offense was just good enough to move the ball against one of the best defenses of all time. LSU's offense wasn't able to do that on Bama though. Had they had an above average offense, that game would have been totally different IMO.

And for what it's worth, I think if Jarrett Lee had been let in the game, you would have scored. He was a much better game manager than Jefferson was.

It's amazing how all year our "average mediocre offense" sliced and diced average to above average defense but when we played a great one it makes your argument valid.

LSU had a prolific offense just last year. An offense that had 5 players that started as rookies, and 3 that are looking like future stars. Yet, LSU lost 3 games because of the defense. There's a reason the saying isn't "Offense wins championships."

You want further proof, just look a the Seahawks. They are a great defense with an average offense and they are running over all of these great offensive teams every week.
