Post on a shaggybevo thread claims he is not that involved in recruiting - so his hire will not hurt them that much from a recruiting standpoint.

True or just grasping at straws?

He was involved, but didn't like to recruit. His involvement was more executive than anything. You'll still need some front line recruiting staff.

Chavis has openly admitted that he does not like recruiting. He has never been a big recruiter dating back to his Tennessee days.

Don't fool yourself, he is involved. Though they have a recruiting staff, as everyone does but he get involved on visits when they need to close a deal on his hand selected recruits...

Then he does his thing which is turns his star recruits into NFL playes

he's never been an active recruiter. He does get involved in some big names (like Daylon Mack, which will be the most directly affected recruit in this ordeal) but I don't expect a major recruiting shakeup otherwise.
