Well yards per play is a pretty simple, widely used statistic.

F+ is linked in every one of the advanced stats post I post and is at footballoutsiders.com . Also pretty widely used by football people (and very similar to ESPN's FPI system).

Not sure why you are making this out to be some sort of PHD level math that none of us can understand.

I'm not. Simply pointing out that you don't know how it works doesn't make something complicated, SoG. It may imply something about your cognitive abilities (I assure you I don't mean to imply that, but it is what it is ), but it doesn't mean that no one can understand it. It just means you're relying on a number that you don't really know how it is calculated to make a definitive point. No more, no less.
