I think 2008 USC edges them out. Their LB corps was (all seniors):
Brian Cushing (won 2009 NFL rookie of the year)
Clay Matthews (won 2010 NFC DPOY, 2nd in NFL DPOY)
Rey Maualuga (solid NFL starter).

In other words, USC had a top 3 NFL LB corps... in college. The secondary and DL weren't on THAT level, but both units were still littered with draft picks.

On the season they held opponents to:
0 points: 3x
3 points: 3x
7 points: 2x
10 points: 2x

In their other 3, they gave up:
27 in Corvallis in a loss (USC struggled there back then)
23 in a blowout win @Stanford
24 in the Rose Bowl against Penn St (Penn got 17 4th quarter points to make it look respectable)

Other than @Oregon State, that defense was jaw dropping dominant all year long. It was a joke that Oklahoma snuck into the NC game ahead of USC. I would have loved to have seen Urban's O against that D. My guess is that urban would have one less ring.
